Marine
Stabilized Satellite Television System
Take Your Favorite TV Programs With You On The Water!!
With a King-Dome Sea-King Satellite
System, you can have access to all the programs available
on regular Satellite Television while you're on the water! Its
gyro-stabilized antenna system provides reliable reception even
in rough sea conditions.
The King-Dome uses integrated Digital Video Broadcast (DVB) technology
to provide positive satellite identification and lock on the
correct satellite automatically. A single coaxial cable connects
the dome to the indoor unit for simple installation. With its
unlimited rotation, you will never experience a loss of picture
due to "cable unwrap." Just push a button and the dish
will automatically find and track the satellite of your choice.
If your channels are broadcast from multiple satellites (like
DISH Network), the King-Dome moves
back and forth between satellites quickly.

History of the Sea-King King-Dome
Since 1985, King Controls has been a leader in designing and
manufacturing innovative electronic control systems for the heavy-duty
truck, recreational vehicle and specialty vehicle markets. The
companys original product line of electronic engine controls
included vehicle speed governors, engine shutdown devices and
the Cruise King Cruise Control. These products are distributed
throughout North America by major distributors including Paccar
Parts (Peterbilt & Kenworth) and Alliance (Freightliner,
Sterling & Western Star).
1991, King Controls began working with custom vehicle manufacturers
to design various application specific engine control systems
for specialty vehicles. From low speed cruise controls for highway
paint stripers to dual speed governors for aircraft deicing vehicles,
King Controls has provided product solutions that meet the unique
requirements of custom vehicle manufacturers. By the mid 1990s,
the Cruise King had become the preferred choice for diesel chassis
manufacturers supplying the RV industry. As diesel powered RV
chassis became increasingly popular, companies such as Country
Coach, Freightliner Custom Chassis, Foretravel, Gillig, Monaco
Coach, Oshkosh and Western RV began offering the Cruise King
as original equipment for their RV chassis.
In 1998, King Controls introduced
the King-Dome Stationary Automatic Satellite System to the RV
Industry. The King-Dome provides mobile customers with easy access
to content rich satellite television programming from major satellite
service providers including DIRECTV®, DISH Network® and
ExpressVU. While other RV satellite systems were available
at that time, the innovative design of the King-Dome offered
mobile customers the first ever dome covered stationary
automatic system, first system with universal receiver and service
provider compatibility, and the first system to work with multiple
satellites services like DISH 500 from DISH Network.
The King-Dome is the most widely
used automatic satellite system in the RV industry. Major RV
manufacturers including Alfa Leisure, Beaver, Fleetwood, Forest
River, Monaco, National RV, Tiffin Motorhomes, Travel Supreme,
Western and Winnebago RV now offer King-Dome as standard equipment
or as a factory option. For after market installations, The King-Dome
brand is the preferred choice of RV dealers and mobile satellite
system installers across the country.
Two additional King-Dome models
were introduced for RVs in 2002, the AutoScan semi-automatic
and Trac-King in motion systems. The entry level AutoScan system
is the first of its kind and is the lowest cost dome covered
satellite system available. The AutoScan unit is a great alternative
to old fashioned pop-up style dishes and offers the
same advantages of environmental protection as other models.
This called a semi-automatic system, although it offers several
features not found on competing automatic systems such as direct
satellite switching for DISH 500 and automatic leveling.
The Trac-King in motion satellite
system is the most advanced satellite tracking system available
today. With azimuth tracking speeds exceeding 90° per second
and elevation tracking of 40° per second, the Trac-King tracks
twice as fast as any competing system. It also has a unique rotary
joint design that eliminates the troublesome cable wrap
which causes competing systems to lose satellite signal when
turning.
** A marine version of the Trac-King
was introduced in late 2003 to provide boaters uninterrupted
satellite reception while at dock or underway. As with their
land units, the Sea-King marine stabilized satellite antenna
system is also twice as fast as the competition and costs 40%
less. The Sea-King will lead the way to higher quality, more
affordable stabilized satellite antenna systems in the marine
market that incorporate the most advanced tracking technology
available. **
In early 2004, King Controls introduced
a complete line of low-profile dome systems which have allowed
their OEM customers to make their coaches taller without any
significant change in the overall height. They not only made
the dome smaller than any competing system, but tests show it
provides better signal reception in rain than the much larger
dome systems offered by the competition. This unique design accomplishment
will help drive the RV industry towards higher roof coaches with
greater headroom and more spacious interiors.
